200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training
October 5, 2010–May 7, 2011

- Intensive study and practice of asana most commonly taught in Vinyasa Yoga
- Inquiry into the art of linking postures into intelligent, flowing sequences
- Interactive workshops to help you understand anatomy and physiology and apply their principles to yoga instruction
- Guidance in teaching meditation, pranayama, kriyas, and mantra
- Exploration of Yoga philosophy through reading, discussions, and writing about sacred texts
- Opportunities to observe and assist other teachers
- Invaluable feedback on your own teaching in a safe, supportive environment. Every participant will have ample opportunity to practice teaching, including a final class, open to members of the Yogawood community.
Qualifications
Before applying for this program, take at least two classes at Yogawood: one with Lisa and one with Beth. You should have at least one year of experience practicing Vinyasa yoga. Take into consideration that attendance is mandatory for all classroom sessions and that there will be books to read, papers to write, and lots of yoga to practice in this transformative training!
Schedule
This training will start with a session from 7:30–9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. After that, we'll meet every Tuesday from October 12–December 14, 2010, and than again from January 4–April 12, 2011 from 6:00–9:00 p.m. The last two Tuesdays in April are scheduled as optional group study sessions at the same time. All Tuesday meetings will take place at Yogawood in Collingswood.
We'll also meet on Saturdays, every week from October 9–December 4 from 11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; December 11 and 18 from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; and then January 8 and 22, February 5 and 19, March 5 and 19, and April 2 and 16 from 11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. We'll meet on Saturday, April 30 from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and then hold our closing celebration on Saturday, May 7. The first of our Saturday meetings will be held in Collingswood, and we'll alternate between our Collingswood and Riverton spaces after that.
In addition to these classroom sessions, students are required to participate in at least two vinyasa yoga classes at Yogawood per week, and at least one of those needs to be with Beth or Lisa. As the training progresses, there will be an assignment requiring you to attend at least four Monday evening meditation sits at Yogawood in Collingswood. Students' final teaches will be scheduled at various times between April 17 and May 5, 2011. There will be books to read and written assignments to be completed during the training.
Students are required to take at least two Vinyasa classes at Yogawood per week, to have one documented home practice session per week, and to attend at least four Sunday evening meditation sits during the months of the training. Tuition
Full tuition for this program is $2,800. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due upon acceptance to the program. Following that, $300 payments are due: November 1 and 15, 2010; January 1 and 15, 2011; February 1 and 15, 2011; March 1 and 15, 2011; and April 1, 2011. Tuition does not cover the cost of a small number of books that are required reading, but does include all training sessions and materials, as well as unlimited drop-in classes at Yogawood during the months of training.
